  • Lift the corner with a jack, set it on stands and remove the wheel. Chock the other wheels.

  • Back the adjuster off first so the drum slides free. Set the drum down with its open side facing up.

  • Photograph the springs before you remove anything, then fit the new shoes in the same order.

  • Put the drum back, turn the adjuster until the wheel just drags, then back it off one notch.
